Dr. Alexandros Gasparatos (The University of Tokyo, IFI, Japan) Renewable Energy and Biodiversity: Implications for achieving Post 2020 Global Biodiversity Framework

Dr. Alexandros Gasparatos is Associate Professor of Sustainability Science at the Institute for Future Initiatives (IFI), University of Tokyo. I am also an Adjunct Associate Professor at the United Nations University Institute for the Advanced Study of Sustainability (UNU-IAS). As an ecological economist he is interested in the development, refinement and application of sustainability assessment and ecosystem services valuation tools. He has applied such tools in different topics such as biofuels, food/energy security, energy policy, green economy, natural disasters and urban metabolism, in geographical contexts as diverse as Brazil, Ghana, Indonesia, Japan, Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Philippines, Swaziland and the UK.
